To see artworks in the streets
and squares of Zagreb
Since the late 60, Zagreb was known as a place where experimental and technology-inspired art took to mainstream, mainly thanks to Nouvelles Tendances.
Started by the art group EXAT 51 in the desire to synthesize the artistic movements of the 1960s and 1970s on an almost scientific basis.
Their work included visual research, kinetic, neo constructivist, programmatic, gestalt, computer- generated art, and program arts united by the fact that they “spring from a common mood, from a spiritual climate similar to all of them, from historical and social circumstances close to them”.
Art Future can be considered as a continuation of their ‘Computers and visual research’ section which took place from 1968 – 1973.
Our goal is to explores “the now” of digital arts and the global position of Zagreb in
experimental art.
Join us and experience, see, and feel something new in AR.

If you’re an artist specializing in digital media and seeking an opportunity to showcase your work to thousands of people on the streets of Zagreb during October and November, this is for you.
To have your work featured, you have to use AI tools freely available on the internet.
Your piece has to be 2D and inspired by our theme of emotional inteligence.
We will convert your 2D piece into a 3D frame.
GIFs are not allowed.
From the central squares of recently built neighborhoods to the busy crossroads of the city center – every part of Zagreb transforms into an exhibition space.
You can choose how many pieces you want to see and when.
Maybe just the ones close to you – or go on a quest to see all of our AR masterpieces scattered all over town.
In contrast to the adult, academically educated professional artists, Art Future will run Al creative labs
with children, who will use ChatGPT, DALL-E, Midjourney, and other Al creative tools to express
themselves and give us their perspective on the Al powered evolution of the creative process.
You tell us, once you see the exhibition – were these pieces made by AI, or real people?
Would you be able to tell the difference?
Is there a difference, if you experience it as art?
